Reporters do not connect dots even while looking straight at head pedophile priest

Dumbed down America continued

Poignant report that young boys are used as sex slaves by Afghan soldiers, sometimes on American military property on MSNBC morning news show.  If any of our officers knew about this, they should be fired, said Hightop, and his cohort Lipswitch agreed with her eyes flashing compassion and care.
Segue right into next story, "The Pope spends day in Cuba before coming to America" big empty grins on all faces.  No idea how ignorant they just revealed themselves to be. No mention that the Pope heads an organization that aided and abetted thousands of child rapes by its priests and never admitted any guilt or faced any consequences.
Tell me, how do pedophile priest victims ever get out the truth in a media environment full of press release readers who never ask questions.
And how does the whole country ever root out pedophilia at its core if we refuse to look at powerful persons and cultural structures that enable it.

Here is the story to which they referred:

U.S. Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan Allies"KABUL, Afghanistan — In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base." (Continued here)

Plus the story broke in the NY Times and nowhere else, which once meant it must be true, but in the last decade has come to mean it could be false.  We are all stuck here together in American Opposite-World.
I first heard about Afghan soldiers bringing children back to the bases on the Randi Rhodes radio show a good five or more years ago. This is not even news, it's an old story, yet the NY Times releases it now? Maybe to take the pedophile attention away from the Pope? To steer "pedophile" searches in Google away from the Pope?
